Introduction to Seed Starting

Cost: $20/participant
Are you a new or beginning gardener who is interested in growing your garden plants from seed? Join us for an interactive seed starting session at the farm. You'll leave with a 6 pack of planted seeds and the skills to start your plants from seeds in your garden this year. The 1-hour session will include live instruction at Freetown Farm, and a tour of our greenhouse which is where all of the plants for the farm are grown each year. To register visit here.

Gardening with Free, Found, and Low-Cost Items
When: April 2, 2022
Time: 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Location: Freetown Farm - 8000 Harriet Tubman Lane in Columbia
Cost: $30/participant
Grow your creativity and learn how to transform free, found, or low-cost items into garden masterpieces. We'll share fun ideas for incorporating everyday items that otherwise might make their way into the landfill in your garden. Participants are encouraged to bring a free or found item that they would like to transform into a focal point in their garden. Some great resources for free, found, or low cost items include your local Buy Nothing group on social media or your local thrift store. We'll have a few samples available for anyone who may not have an item to bring. Participants will be provided at least one plant to contribute to their garden. To register visit here.

Join us around the fire at Freetown Farm where we'll answer your gardening questions, talk about our gardening joys, and explore solutions to our common gardening challenges. We can explore Freetown Farm's many demonstration gardens that offer insight into ways you can translate what we discuss into action in your own backyard or garden.
