The Farm Stand
Each year, we open up our farm stand to the public during the growing season to share our plants and produce grown right at Freetown Farm. Starting in mid-Apil, we begin our community plant sale, which features vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings for your garden. We will also feature a selection of edible perennials and native plants that support our area’s ecosystem. Most plants are $3-4 depending on their container with some other specialty or large plants priced as marked!
Beginning in June or July, we will have a mix of fresh produce available for purchase. Alongside the produce, we will have free recipes and samples of things our farm team makes with whatever is in season.
Have questions about what to do in your garden or kitchen? Our knowledgeable and passionate team is ready to help you figure out the best things to grow for your space and what to do with them once they are ready to harvest. We’ve helped thousands of people make their gardens beautiful, ecological, and abundant!
An educational destination
Each Saturday, we will have a different educational activity at our farm stand open to all visitors. Whether it is an art project utilizing plants growing around us, a scavenger hunt around the property, or even a lesson in food preservation, we welcome all individuals and families to join us and learn something new!
Check us out on Instagram @freetownfarmcei for details on upcoming activities. |

The Freetown farm difference
Every purchase from our farm stand directly supports our Agroecology in Action Program at Freetown Farm, which serves to provide fresh and nutritious produce to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout Howard County. Through our partnerships with organizations like Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services (LARS) and Columbia Community Care (CCC), we distributed over 5500 pounds of produce during the 2023 season! Your support helps us to continue to support food equity in our community, ensuring that more people have access to nutritious, affordable, and culturally considerate foods.
Our plants and produce are grown with love for the environment. We do not spray with harmful chemicals or spread any artificial fertilizers in our greenhouse or gardens. Therefore, you can trust that the plants and produce you purchase at our farm stand are more than organically grown; our practices help us to regenerate soil, habitat, and even our waterways!
