Transition Repair café
Get your item fixedDo you have items in your house that need fixing or mending but you don't know how to fix them yourself?
Bring your broken items to the Transition Repair Café! Volunteers will evaluate and fix as many of them as they can and offer their expertise on items that are too large or not possible to bring in. In 2025, Repair Cafés will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 1:00 - 3:00 pm, starting on April 12th (at Greenfest) and going through October 11th. |

Maker Spacemak·er·space: noun - a place in which people with shared interests can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment and knowledge.
The Maker Space at Freetown Farm supports personal and community resilience by providing a place for people to learn lost arts and skills that were commonly known several generations ago. The maker space is also home to the Repair Cafés, a grassroots movement that aims to reduce waste, overconsumption, and planned obsolescence. Maker Space events foster an "I can do it" spirit and strengthen social cohesion.
As we continue to create more opportunities for resilience and sustainable living, we could surely use the community's support to develop the Maker Space! WHAT WE NEED
•Teachers for projects, classes, workshops etc.
•Building materials or donated professional services •Tools, books, and similar materials for the library •Volunteers to help with the restoration of the space •Volunteers to teach or mentor on related topics •And, last but not least, people who want to have fun! |
If you or anyone you know would like to help with other aspects of setting up the Maker Space, please contact [email protected].
